Herzlich willkommen! We invite you to join us on November 22nd & 23rd for Chillicothe’s very own German Christmas market, the Nikolausmarkt!
Kick off your holiday season with this family-friendly city-wide celebration. Start off at festive-decorated City Park to see our chalets showcasing various local vendors & artisans. Grab a snack and check out authentic German trinkets from the German American Central Society’s while listening to their Damenchor and Alpenhorn. After a stroll through the park, take a ride with your family & friends on a carriage through historic Downtown Chillicothe.
Or go for a run! Sign up for our very own Nikolaus 5K on Saturday morning. After the race, come pick up a mug and savor some gluhwein at the American Legion. Coming down for the parade? Take the kids and explore the Chillicothe Historical Society’s Rock Island Depot, swing by Odie’s to decorate cookies, or Crossword Cafe to paint homemade Christmas ornaments. There’s plenty to do for the whole family! Including your pet. Grab a picture with Santa and your fur baby at PAVG. On your way out of town be sure to stop by Picket Fence for their Christmas Open House & Evergreen Senior Living for the Jingle & Mingle Holiday Market.
The Nikolausmarkt will run from 4-8 PM on Friday, Nov. 22nd & 11-6 PM on Saturday, Nov. 23rd. There is no charge for admission. The Nikolaus 5K will start at 10 AM, Saturday. Registration for the 5K & times for the other activities will be posted online. Be sure to follow us at our Facebook page to keep up with everything going on around town that weekend.
