On Thursday, September 14, Peoria County Genealogical Society will hold its monthly member meeting featuring longtime local history journalist, Phil Luciano, currently of WTVP, Bradley University, and Peoria Magazine. Phil will share his personal strategies for selecting stories, deciding what to research, interview techniques, and a general overview of the Peoria area local history he has encountered over the years.
Phil Luciano is a longtime voice of Central Illinois journalism, having won nearly 100 awards of excellence. He has filled a multitude of roles in local media, colleges & universities, and nonprofit organizations – including a decades-long career as a staff member at Peoria Journal Star. Phil has lent his time to Friends of the Children of Haiti, Dream Center Peoria, and Riverside Community Church. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Springfield and Northern Illinois University, Phil brings a great deal of expertise to sharing local history.
Free and open to the public. No registration needed if attending in person.
