The Summer Festa Picnic is a long-standing family event held by the Italian-American Society since its founding in 1929, bringing a small piece of Italy and its traditions to Central Illinois each summer. What began as a social event for Italian immigrants has evolved into a large community event and the Society's major scholarship program fundraiser.
In addition to Italian food, drink, traditional dance, gift items, and a bocce ball tournament, Vince Amore and Jack Miuccio provide live music. We offer activities for kids throughout the day, such as face painting, an inflatable slide, and a spaghetti-eating contest, and welcome local artisans to display and sell their wares.
Admission: $3 per adult at the gate. Children under 12 are free.
