The fifth annual Kickapoo Creek Festival at Sommer Farm August 8, 9, and 10, will celebrate thecomplexity of the Kickapoo Creek watershed. From Brimfield to Peoria and from Dunlap toBartonville, the 300 square-mile watershed is both farmland and most of Peoria plus a dozensmall towns, suburbs, farms and wildlife area in a connected matrix. Kickapoo Creek Festivaloffers interactive outdoor activities for families to enjoy and learn about nature.Friday begins with workshops of wild, local medicinal plants. Free live local music 6 pm - 11 pmincludes a public bonfire and the first of three free camping nights.Saturday begins at 9:00 am with over a dozen vendors and workshops offering interactivescientific learning all day with extensive child care activities. The sunset meditation and nightsky guided tour offer a perfect end to a wonderful day.Sunday is devoted to holistic healing with workshops, vendors, free canoe access, fishing, yogaand other learning opportunities. Free childcare will be available during the mornings and afternoons Saturday and Sunday.
