Best Bites for Brunch

Toast to the weekend at any of these Peoria area brunch spots. With options for both Saturdays and Sundays, you can sleep in and leave the cooking to the professionals.

Biscuits and Gravy  {Metamora}   //   Of course, you should try the namesake biscuits and gravy, but this restaurant offers so much more! Definitely try some of the southern classics like corned beef hash and fried shrimp po’boys sprinkled throughout the breakfast and lunch menus.

Childers Eatery   {Peoria, East Peoria}   //   Whether you are craving a classic or unique creation, Childers offers something for everyone from multiple locations. Make a choice between the Denver or Greek mushroom omelet, traditional eggs benedict or southern benedict with cajun andouille, and Belgian waffle or caramel apple churro waffle.

Cyd’s in the Park   {Peoria}   //   No need to wait for Sunday as Cyd’s Saturday lunch menu is full of brunch specials. Your expectations for avocado toast will expand once you’ve had Cyd’s version with slow-roasted tomatoes, arugula, basil oil, flavor crystals, and a poached egg.

Don and Nancy’s Cafe  {Canton}   //   Enjoy a made-from-scratch breakfast or lunch from this cozy cafe. The biscuits, cinnamon rolls, and even the toast are homemade. For the best combination of breakfast and lunch, choose the buttermilk fried chicken topped with sausage gravy.

Eggcellent Cafe   {East Peoria}   //   The extensive menu at this cafe goes far beyond eggs. With breakfast served all day, there’s no wrong choice.  You could order a regular stack of pancakes… or you could have s’mores, Nutella, berry, apple, or cookie butter pancakes. The lunch menu includes a wide selection of salads, sandwiches, and burgers.

Kelleher’s Irish Pub & Eatery  {Peoria}   //   Saturday is brunch! Build your own bloody mary or mimosa with their amazing spread of mix-ins. For a comforting meal, try Mo’s hashbrown-based breakfast casserole.

Obed & Isaac’s Microbrewery and Eatery   {Peoria}   //   Their “collection plate” will surely satisfy. Potatoes, veggies, eggs, and gravy or cheese sauce all combine for a filling brunch. Enjoy a variety of omelets and waffles along with their delicious craft brews.

Oliver’s in the Heights  {Peoria Heights //   This is where you’ll find your favorite bar foods with a breakfast twist. Enjoy breakfast pizza, breakfast nachos, and breakfast burritos with your favorite drink from their full bar.

The Twelve Bar   {Peoria Heights}   //   Weather permitting, enjoy brunch from the outdoor rooftop. You’ll find unique items such as pastrami hash, a classic BLT upscaled with truffle mayo and fried egg, or something sweet like strawberries and cream bread pudding.

Thyme Kitchen + Craft Beer   {Peoria}   //   Thyme creatively spices up dishes on their Saturday + Sunday brunch menu. The blueberry rhubarb compote sweetens up the chicken & waffles, lemon ricotta pancakes, and waffles. You’ll also find regular menu favorites like the vegetarian tenderloin and bison burger.

Weaver Ridge   {Peoria}   //   If you leave this brunch hungry, you’ve done something wrong. Enjoy brunch staples like scrambled eggs, breakfast meats, and hash browns. Don’t miss out on the Weaver Ridge spread, which includes various seafood, a meat carving station, a full salad bar, and champagne.
