Volksfests, or “People’s Festivals,” are a cherished tradition in Germany, and the Peoria German American Central Society has proudly carried on this legacy since the 1930s!

This year’s festival promises a vibrant celebration of German heritage with something for everyone within a warm welcoming atmosphere of a traditional German Bier Garten. Indulge in authentic German food and beverages, cheer on the PSV soccer team, enjoy lively entertainment and shop for unique German gifts at the Damenchor tent.

Enjoy live music throughout the day. Headlining the event is longtime GACS friend and crowd favorite Eddie Korosa from Chicago. Adding to the festive atmosphere will be performances by local German entertainers, the melodic Lindenhof Echoes with their Alp Horns, and the spirited Al’s Pals Polka Band.

Savor delicious German fare including Heidelburgers, Brats & Hotdogs, Porksicles, German Potato Salad and Sauerkraut. Complete dinners will be served from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with à la carte sandwiches and delicious Bavarian pretzels available until 7pm or while supplies last.

Get in on the action by cheering on our PSV Soccer teams, games start at 1pm, try your hand at Nagelspielen, a traditional German nail game or test your strength in the Stein Holding contest. The $15 entry fee for stein holding includes a souvenir stein filled with beer!

German and domestic beer are available, along with soft drinks and a cash bar. No outside coolers are permitted. A drop-off zone is available for elderly guests, individuals with disabilities, and families with small children.

Only service animals are allowed.

This event is Cash Only, there is No ATM on site. Please plan accordingly.
