One of the longest running hockey teams in North America, is proud to call the Peoria Civic Center (Carver Arena) and Downtown Peoria home for over the past 40 years. The Peoria Rivermen have been in continuous operation since the 1982-83 season (one of the the 7th longest continually operating minor league hockey franchises in North America). The Rivermen have played in the International Hockey League (1982-96), the East Coast Hockey League (1996-2005), the American Hockey League (2005-2013) and now call the Southern Professional Hockey League (2013-present) home.
The Rivermen have won four League Championships, two in the International Hockey League, one in the ECHL and now in 2022, in the Southern Professional Hockey League. The Rivermen are the only franchise in all of North America to have won a league championship in each level of the sport and have the best winning percentage in the history of the SPHL over the course of the past nine seasons. The Rivermen pride themselves in promoting a winning hockey team on the ice, at an affordable family price, with entertainment on and off the ice from start to finish of each game.
