No matter what your new years vibe is, you’ll find a way to countdown in style. Make plans for a fun and festive celebration with these options.

For the little one:  PNC Kids Countdown

Wear the kids out for the babysitter with their favorite princesses and superheroes, balloon art, face painting, inflatables and more. Activities and live entertainment begin at 3 p.m., with the ball drop at 6 p.m. Thanks to sponsors, this event is free for the entire family!

For the music enthusiast:  Live music

A number of local establishments will be ringing in the new year with live music. Listen to Jonny Quest at Martini’s on Water. Kick back with Steady Flow at Kenny’s Westside Pub. If you are the one with the musical talent, sing your favorite karaoke song at The Basket Case

For the sleepy:  Celebrate early

A different signature brew will be discounted each hour from 12 - 4 p.m. at Bust’d Brewing. Another early celebration is available at Jimmy’s Bar where you can ring in Ireland’s New Year at 6 p.m.

For the night owls:  Stay overnight

If you want to dance the night away and roll into a nearby bed, make your reservations for the sophisticated soiree at Four Points by Sheraton. Another option is to join entertainer Miss Flo for Peoria Proud’s celebration, then sleep at Embassy Suites

For the foodie:  Make reservations

Make plans for a delicious evening at one of Peoria’s best restaurants. Dinner at Ardor includes menu additions and wine tastings just for NYE. Indulge in a three-course meal along with live music and a midnight toast at Fox & Ford. For a thrilling dining experience, get tickets to the roaring 20s themed murder mystery dinner at Timberlake Club of Peoria

For the outdoors type:  Get Lit Run/Walk

Start the New Year off right with some healthy movement through Folepi’s Winter Wonderland. If you aren’t up for running or walking the 1-mile course, enjoy the trolley and relax around a fire pit with s’mores and hot cocoa. Festivities begin at 3 p.m. with the run/walk taking place at 4 p.m. on January 1.
